Hi, I’m Sreelakshmi! I’m an MBA student at BITS School of Management (BITSoM), Mumbai, and I’m passionate about learning, growth, and the exciting journey of business education. With a background in civil engineering and a strong interest in business strategy, I’m now navigating the world of management, hoping to apply my experiences and skills in new, impactful ways.
This blog is a way for me to share my MBA journey—both the highs and the challenges—as I dive deeper into the world of strategy, finance, marketing, and leadership. From balancing coursework and group projects to building networks and dealing with the stress of exams, I’m here to document it all, while reflecting on my personal growth along the way.
Moving from a steady income, where I received a salary at the end of each month, to living off my savings as a full-time student was a difficult adjustment. The shift from being financially independent to relying on my personal savings was unnerving at first. It’s not easy to give up the comfort of financial stability after years of working and earning.
Also, after spending years in the workplace, where practical knowledge and quick decision-making were key, the idea of returning to a classroom setting, absorbing new theories, and relearning concepts felt like a daunting task. The mental shift from being a contributor to becoming a student again required a lot of unlearning and relearning. It was frustrating at times, but it was also exciting.
Despite the challenges, I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to solidify my foundational knowledge. The MBA experience is helping me connect the dots between concepts I had previously encountered in the workplace but never fully understood. It's also been incredibly refreshing to return to the competitive grind of learning, where every class, project, and group discussion pushes me to perform at my best. Beyond the academics, the chance to build a strong professional network has already opened doors to new opportunities.
This transition, while tough, has been invaluable, and I am excited about the journey ahead. Whether you’re an MBA student, a prospective candidate, or someone simply interested in the world of business, I hope you’ll find something here that resonates with your own journey or sparks some inspiration. I’m learning a lot as I go, and I’m excited to share these lessons, tips, and reflections with you.
Thanks for stopping by! Let’s learn and grow together.
